The entire science of aromatherapy rests on the great effects of aromatherapy oil, which is available in a large number of scents. Aromatherapy has gained great popularity over the last decade. This practice makes use of a person’s sense of smell to encourage health.

Different Aromatherapy oils are used to achieve different benefits. Each type of these oils has diverse characteristics which heal various ailments and disorders in a distinct manner. These oils are derived from a vast range of plants. Many parts of plants like the flowers, leaves, bark, herbs etc. are used to make these oils. For relaxing and comforting, you can use oils like Jasmine, Chamomile, Neroli, Frankincense etc. Jasmine aromatherapy oil has a pleasant flowery fragrance. It can be combined with Chamomile and other citrus oils. Chamomile gives out a fresh fruity fragrance. You can combine it with oils like Lavender, Geranium and Bergamot. Frankincense oil has a gentle sweet aroma. For great effects, try mixing it with oils like Lavender, Neroli or Rose.
 
For energizing and uplifting, use oils such as orange, lemongrass, basil etc. Lemongrass and Orange essential oils, as one can guess, have a citrus fragrance. While Lemongrass can be combined with cedar wood, Basil and Lavender aromatherapy oils, Orange mixes well with Lavender and frankincense. Basil is known for its refreshing spicy scent. Mix it with Frankincense or Geranium for best results.

These aromatherapy oils also have great medicinal value and they can be used to cure many physical and mental ailments. All these oils are an excellent way of realizing remedial advantages. All these oils have two or more properties like: antidepressant, antispasmodic, antiseptic, analgesic, antibacterial, diuretic and digestive stimulant.

Try using Jasmine and Chamomile for headache; for anxiety try Jasmine and Orange; for depression use Chamomile and Orange; and for stress, use Lemongrass and Orange. For cough you can try Jasmine; for asthma, bronchitis, other respiratory problems, nervous tension and colds, Basil and Frankincense will prove very effective. Similarly, these oils can also take care of blisters and boils, colitis, stomachache, constipation, rheumatism, fatigue and many otherdisorders.
 
Having learnt about the uses of aromatherapy oil, we must also learn the right methods of using it. As these oils are very strong and in their purest form, they should be used in a very small quantity. The essential oils of aromatherapy can be used in many ways.
 
Starters can use these oils by pouring a drop on a tissue paper and inhaling tenderly. Inhaling the fragrance of these oils by way of steam is another method. Boil some water in a bowl, pour a few drops of your preferred oil and inhale from a short distance. Aromatherapy oil burner is also an effective method of using these oils. By using the essential oil in your bath water, you can get instant results.
 
Besides the health benefits, aromatherapy oil you can also use it as a room freshener, to freshen your laundry and certain corners of your home. Certain oils can also be used as insect repellents. Once you step into the world of aromatherapy oil, there is no looking back.
